Whale Watching
Whales, these majestic, enormous aquatic mammals and one of the most spectacular creatures on Earth.
Luckily when you are visiting Iceland, you will have a great chance of spotting these giants.
Whales were always part of the Icelandic life, they play a significant role in mythology, back in the old days they were a source of food and income, but luckily nowadays one can enjoy their beauty in their natural habitat. The best time for whale watching is the summer months (June-August), however you might still have a chance to see them if you are at the right place at the right time as they say. Most of the tours feature minke whales, white beaconed dolphins, porpoises and sometimes spot orcas, sperm whales and the great humpback whales at deeper waters. During the summer months, you can enjoy different bird species as well, which often accompany the whale pods.
